Friends of the Dillon Ranger District | Trail Day

Last week, the Slifer Smith & Frampton team joined forces with Friends of the Dillon Ranger District (FDRD) and passionate volunteers from across Summit County for a day of trail work at the Meadow Creek Trailhead in Frisco. This project has been a labor of love for FDRD throughout the summer, and every volunteer brought their energy and dedication to ensure the trail is ready for everyone to enjoy, with emphasis on leaving no trace behind.

Preserving and Enhancing Public Lands

Friends of the Dillon Ranger District is dedicated to improving trail and natural resource conditions in Summit County’s National Forest. They dedicate thousands of hours and over 60 volunteer projects a year to make it happen. Their goal is to engage community members, youth, and partners in stewardship for trail maintenance and ecological restoration. Through consistent outreach, programs like Ranger Patrol, and educational initiatives—including presentations and interpretive hikes—they aim to foster public awareness and long-term engagement. Collaborations with businesses and organizations help expand volunteer recruitment, while service learning opportunities for youth ages 6–18 remain a key focus for the future.

SS&F is incredibly proud of this beautiful corner of the world we call home, and giving back to it fills us with gratitude and joy.
