JUNE EVENTS
Summer in Summit County starts a little later than lower elevations. Depending on the year, it is not uncommon to see the snow continue to fall into June. With this, the temperatures are warming up, and the days are getting long, so if precipitation does fall, it certainly doesn’t last long. The rivers are flowing, the trails are melting, and trees and wildflowers are in full bloom. The skis are placed in closets, and the hiking boots, mountain bikes, and paddleboards come out to play. June in Summit County is a month filled with letting the muddy trails dry, cleaning up from the winter before, and finding our dancing shoes to kick off a summer filled with music. JULY EVENTS
Some would argue the kick-off to summer is really the 4th of July. This is when most of the mountain peaks transform into more dirt than snow, and the days start to get in the high 70s, low 80s at high elevation. Summit County is one of the best places to celebrate the 4th of July. Between the parades in both Breckenridge and Frisco, the live music, and even a 50 mile mountain bike race, you will find entertaining things to do all weekend long.

For some, September is their favorite time to be in the mountains. The mornings are crisp, the leaves are changing colors, and winter whispers from around the corner. It’s a special time to be in the mountains and witness the changing season with a beautiful mountain backdrop.
