About Courtney

Courtney Shelden knows a thing or two about how to stay competitive and focused when it counts. Originally from Seattle, she grew up as an elite ski racer and moved to Colorado in 2005 to ski for the University of Denver's NCAA Division I ski team. That's where she met her husband, Taylor, a professional road cyclist who was born and raised in Breckenridge.

When they moved back to his hometown in 2015, it wasn't just for the skiing. Taylor, a mechanical engineer, joined his dad's business, Shelden Custom Homes, and his mother, Stacy, a Broker Associate for Slifer Smith & Frampton, recruited Courtney to join Slifer. With previous roles in sales and customer service, the transition to real estate was an easy one that fueled Courtney's passion for assisting others.

"My strong suit is truly listening to my client's needs, so I can find them not just any property, but the perfect home for them," Courtney says. "I grew up in a family-owned business, so quality customer service is ingrained in me. It's not just about buying or selling a home but making sure their experience is everything they hoped for and more."

When she's not in the office, Courtney is out cruising her favorite ski runs or guiding clients as a Level 2 Certified PSIA ski instructor. She also loves mountain biking in the summer and spending time with her family and young son, Everett.
