Summit County Clean Up Week | May 9-17

Looking for a reason to get outside? It’s Summit County Clean Up Week! Five Summit County towns are hosting a weeklong event May 9-17, extending the annual county-wide Clean Up Day. Blue River, Breckenridge, Dillon, Frisco, and Silverthorne are calling for local volunteers to help clean up the communities before summer arrives. This event is a chance for us to come together to help our community, while still maintaining a safe social distance.

Each town will provide supplies, including trash bags, safety vests and gloves for participants. Cleanup supplies can be picked up May 9-17 from designated areas in each town, or personal supplies can be used if preferred.

This year, instead of assigning areas, volunteers are encouraged to clean streets, sidewalks, parks and trails near their homes that need attention. Filled trash bags (50lbs or less) can be placed on the side of town roads for pickup by Public Works staff.

To say thank you to the volunteers, each town is also offering the chance win a gift card to a local business! To enter the contest, participants can post a photo of their town clean up experience on Instagram by May 17, tag their town, and use the associated hashtag. One photo entry per person. Winners will be notified by each town after the contest has closed.
