With events dedicated to food, music, beer, art, etc., Summit County has got your weekends covered! Here’s a look at just a handful of our favorite festivals happening this summer:
Bacon & Bourbon Festival ~ June 23-24 ~ Keystone
That’s right folks, an entire festival dedicated to bacon. This weekend long festival features thousands of pounds of the salty delicacy as well as unique bacon-inspired cuisine. Back for its 8th year, this festival is a tried and true Colorado favorite. Sip on a bacon bloody mary while enjoying live music from two rockin’ cover bands, Lez Zeppelin and Hell’s Belles. If you’re a bourbon fan, check out the “Hungry Hog” package, offering a variety of bourbon and whiskey samples, distilled both here in Colorado and beyond.
Breckenridge Summer Beer Festival ~ July 7th ~ Breckenridge
For the 13th year in a row, The Breckenridge Beer Festival will be taking over the town for a day of brews, food, and live entertainment! With over 40 breweries providing tastings, this premiere event has something for everyone. The event runs from 12:00 -5:00 p.m. and will be held outside at Beaver Run Resort & Conference Center.
Wine & Jazz Festival ~ July 14-15 ~ Keystone
With over 300 varieties of wine, food selections from world class Keystone restaurants, and smooth jazz all weekend, this is an event you’ll definitely want to clear your schedule for. Attend scheduled mini events with fun themes such as culinary event “Prosecco & Pancakes” and wine seminar “Sniffing and Swirling-the Nose Knows”. Mac & Cheese Festival ~ July 28-29 ~ Copper
Head on over to Copper for the cheesiest event of the summer! Indulge in samples as chefs compete to deliver the most creative, most delicious versions of your favorite comfort food. With generous portions and more samples than you can stomach, this festival is a foodie’s dream.
Bluegrass and Beer Festival ~ Aug 4-5 ~ Keystone
Come on down to Keystone for the 22nd year of annual bluegrass and beer festivities! Sip on a beer from one of 40+ craft breweries while enjoying music from 14 various bluegrass acts throughout the weekend. When you get hungry indulge in a delicious food selection inspired by down-home country cooking!
Guitar Town ~ Aug 10-12 ~ Copper
Rock out at this musical event at Copper Mountain! Enjoy three whole days of the world’s best guitarists all in one place. Experience live performances, guitar and songwriting workshops, and kids music activities! View the full schedule of events, workshops and performers here.
Breckenridge International Festival of the Arts ~ Aug 10-19 ~ Breckenridge
This epic 10 day event brings even more beauty to the beautiful town of Breckenridge every year. Experience an eclectic mix of music, dance, film, visual arts and family entertainment, all inspired by themes of environment and mountain culture. This year’s featured performances and exhibitions include acclaimed acrobatic troupe Gravity & Other Myths as well as a live skateboarding and music celebration: Concrete Jams: Sk8 + Jazz. Copper Crush Wine Festival ~ Aug 17-19 ~ Copper
Get ready to stomp some grapes, this is a new kind of wine fest! This exciting first year event is being labeled “Not your mother’s wine fest”. The Copper Crush Wine Festival is designed to let you have a great time without the worries of dressing up or breaking the bank. The weekend will be filled with fun activities such as a Candy Bar and Wine Pairing, grape stomping, and Boxed Wine Sampling.
Mountain Town Music Festival ~ Aug 17-18 ~ Keystone
As summer winds down, come take part in a celebration of all things Colorado! Local food vendors will be lining the streets featuring their best peach recipes as well as other harvest season favorites. Dance the day away as free live music echos throughout the mountains. Check out vendors from all across Colorado offering unique clothing, art, hammocks, jewelry and more! End the night with a signature fireworks show lighting the sky.
Cider Circus ~ Aug 24-25 ~ Copper
Whether you’re a cider lover or not, you’re sure to love this event! The Cider Circus will feature over 20 cideries and breweries featuring ciders galore and plenty of craft beer selections for the non-cider fanatics. Events throughout the weekend include the Big Top Cheese Pairing, cider-making demonstrations, and aerial arts performers.
